Kobe's Achilles Tendon Injury

With Kobe Bryant being done for the next 6-8 months due to his recent Achilles tendon tear, was it possible to have avoided this injury?  Looking back at the Lakers season, it is worth mentioning that every key player has missed play time due to injury.  Adam Kessler of Columbus, Ohio, feels the Laker management allowed Coach D'Antoni to play 34 year old Kobe "like a fiend his last games."  Even young athletes need rest and proper preparation to play the number of games/minutes they do.

Our Speed Training Clients Getting Pub In Columbus

I wanted to fire off a quick post about some of our winter athletes that have been getting mentioned in the past few weeks.  These athletes did speed training with us at one point or another and getting some nice publicity in our Columbus Dispatch.

Congratulations and keep watch for these athletes:
  • Alyssa Rice - Alyssa worked with us in sixth or seventh grade and has become one of the best basketball players in the state.  She is a junior for Reynoldsburg which is primed for another deep run in the state tourney.
  • Jack Gibbs - Jack plays basketball for Westerville North and will be playing for Davidson next year in college.  Already, he was named basketball player of the week by the Dispatch.
  • Emma Nikolai - Emma plays basketball for Watterson and worked with us last year as a junior.
  • Jack Serbin - Jack is a senior at New Albany playing basketball.  He worked with us as a sophomore and I guess he has grown to be 6' 8".
  • Tyler Kondracke and Drew Elliott - Both play basketball for Bexley and worked with us when we had our facility in Gahanna.  So far Bexley has been off to a great start.  Good luck to these guys and coach Dave Gustin.
  • Alex Radkiewicz - Alex is the lone returning starter on an Olentangy Liberty team that went deep into the basketball state tournament last year.
These athletes worked hard when they were with us and as you can see it is really starting to pay dividends in their sport.  Nice job and it will be fun to follow you this season.
